dear designboom reader,
repurposing gives objects a new life. materials thought of as no longer of use can return in another form. thrown-out bottle corks can become a floating walkway with two million recycled wine stoppers, or used coffee grounds and capsules can be transformed into leather straps for watches.
even scrapped warehouse boxes used in cargo and shipping can be reused as a revamped set of chairs and tables. in other cases, recycling helps designers discover new functions for existing but at times overlooked materials such as stitching strands of preserved seaweed to produce streetwear.
thanks for reading!
