dear designboom reader,
the use of colors takes center stage in recent installations. in yayoi kusama’s case, it’s a series of spheres with sparkling lights for her infinity mirrored room at NGV museum in melbourne. with MAD architects, it’s the pink base of their flying saucer installation at the guangdong nanhai land art festival 2024.
pastel colors dominate the dome-like pavilion by hou de sousa in arkansas, with the structure resembling a quilt buoyed into the air. SOFTlab enlivens the cincinnati museum designed by zaha hadid with colors too, using a billowing, rainbow-hued paper installation suspended from the ceiling.
thanks for reading!
