designers draw inspiration from the sci-fi world in the look of recent motorcycles and scooters. they feature semi-transparent wheels that glow in the dark in neon blue, like yamaha’s concept Y/AI. some also have suspended upper frames, as seen in the kaminari superbike.
anime is another source of design influence. just take the ichiban electric motorcycle, inspired by shotaro kaneda’s bike in akira. even a sniper’s bullet can spark creativity—such is the case with bandit9, which gives the eve odyssey ride a streamlined, sharp frame.
