dear designboom reader,
venice art biennale 2024, which runs until november 24th, highlights the theme ‘stranieri ovunque’ or foreigners everywhere. curated by adriano pedrosa, the pavilions give space and visibility to the works of and topics about immigrants, expatriates, queer people, indigenous individuals and more.
the exhibitions trace indigenous history with vivid colors and patterns like in the US pavilion and make way for a gathering place inspired by latin american motifs as seen in the creole pavilion. they also exhibit silk as a medium that visualizes the devastation in gaza and illustrates a desert rose that can empower women.
