REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF PRODUCTS, TWO WAYS
designers and brands are coming up with different ways to reduce the environmental impact of products. 'the dissolving bottle', which recently landed in several european countries, ditches the need for plastic containers through a series of bottle-shaped shampoo bars that slowly dissolve with use. meanwhile, in an effort to make consumers more aware of the mark each purchase makes on our planet's resources, swedish apparel brand ASKET has begun printing receipts that break down the environmental costs and impact of each order.
ANALOGUE TOOLS GIVE VOICE TO EINDHOVEN'S DOMMEL RIVER
through sound pipes and glass bubbles, 'will water want pt.II' gives eindhoven's dommel river a voice while highlighting its interdependence with the entire river basin. the installation, part of dutch design week 2023, invites passersby to listen to sounds produced by the water as it flows past the bubbles. see more submissions by our readers here, and find out how to upload your own project here.
