OLAFUR ELIASSON AND TEAMLAB AT HEATHERWICK STUDIO'S AZABUDAI HILLS
designboom visits azabudai hills, the recently unveiled, mixed-use complex designed by heatherwick studio in tokyo's toranomon business district. alongside residences, retail spaces, offices, restaurants and even a school, the project boasts a series of cultural facilities that bring local and international artists together in the heart of the japanese capital. our first stop, the azabudai hills gallery, celebrated its opening with an exhibition by icelandic-danish artist olafur eliasson. titled 'a cycle of harmony of interconnected moments', the inaugural show features a series of eliasson’s new and old projects, including installations, sculptures, paintings, and photography. meanwhile, teamLab gave us a sneak peak into their borderless digital art museum ahead of its official reopening in february 2024. settling into the complex's mori building, the immersive exhibitions on view invite visitors into a world of artworks without boundaries.
A WEDDING DRESS FROM MYCELIUM AND VINTAGE UKRAINIAN LACE
