john margaritis, founder of new york sunshine, received THE DESIGN PRIZE 2021 golden madonnina trophy in new york. new york sunshine was awarded THE DESIGN PRIZE in the category of ‘distribution’ for ‘SUN DYED IN TEXAS’, a project created with US apparel company dickies. designboom met with margaritis to deliver the award and talk about the installation and clothing collaboration with dickies, his hands-on approach and plans for the future. watch the interview and ceremony here.
