More Baton Rouge-area news inside
with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editorThanks for starting your work week with us. Here are some of the headlines from the weekend: Several detention ponds built by developers years ago to aid in flood control are filling in with settlement. All around the Baton Rouge area, efforts are underway to deepen the manmade ponds. David Mitchell reports. Baton Rouge's Cortana Mall area will soon have a community center. The region is the only part of the city to not have one. As Terry Jones explains, funds will come from a development district established around the site of a new Amazon complex. LSU and the New Orleans Saints each picked up football victories during the weekend. The Tigers turned back McNeese State on Saturday night, and yesterday the Saints beat Green Bay in a game moved to Jacksonville because of lingering problems after Hurricane Ida. |
