Determining core versus noncore privileges

For organizations moving toward the development of a criteria-based core privileging system, determining whether a certain procedure or privilege is core or special/noncore can be problematic. Post Acute Medical pays $13 million to resolve kickback claims

Post Acute Medical, LLC, operator of long-term care and rehabilitation hospitals nationwide, has agreed to pay more than $13 million for violating the Anti-Kickback Statute. The Pennsylvania-based company must pay this combined total to the United States, Texas, and Louisiana in order to resolve allegations that it submitted false claims to Medicare and Medicaid, in violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark Law.

2019 CRC Contests: Submission deadline extended!

The Credentialing Resource Center (CRC) team is extending the deadline to enter the 2019 CRC Symposium Case Study Competition and the 2019 CRC Achievement Awards, two application-based contests showcasing excellence in the medical staff services and leadership fields. The revised deadline for submitting contest applications is Monday, October 1, 2018.
