On this day in 1994, cricket fans were treated to an unexpected display of larrikin behavior from players in the South Canberra second grade team. A sudden  downpour caused minor flooding of Kingston Oval. Much to the surprise and delight of fans, players threw down bats, caps and pads and took advantage of the new splash zone, flinging themselves belly down through a puddle that rivaled the length of the pitch.
