Dick Durbin wins fifth term in U.S. Senate

CHICAGO (AP) - U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin handily won reelection to a fifth term on Tuesday, continuing a pattern of Democratic dominance in the state.

PEORIA -- Incumbent state Sen. Dave Koehler defeated challenger Mary Burress in the 46th District race.

PEORIA - Incumbent Democrat Bob Spears defeated Republican challenger Anita Meeker on Tuesday to retain his position as Peoria Circuit Clerk.

U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood will return to Congress for another two years, defeating challenger George Petrilli.

Justice Thomas Kilbride has become the first sitting member of the Illinois Supreme Court to lose a retention contest, results suggest.
