| At the event, local developer Phil Hughes discussed plans for the long-awaited downtown Greenville conference center. Hughes, the president of Hughes Investments, told the crowd, “It looks like this is going to happen in Greenville.” The proposed development (see rendering below) would be located on River Street, along the Reedy River, near the Peace Center. Hughes owns a piece of the property that is being considered for the building. |
