Liebe Weinfreunde, selbstredend zählt die Toskana zu den bedeutensten und prestigeträchtigsten Weinregionen Italiens, vor allem hinsichtlich der Vielzahl an wahrhaft großen Rotweinen. Der wohl klassischste aller toskanischen Rotweine ist zweifelsohne der Chianti, traditionell hauptanteilig immer aus der einheimischen Sangiovese Traube gekeltert. Die nicht mehr ganz Jungen erinnern sich sicherlich noch an die ersten Besuche beim Italiener, mit Pizza und einer Viertelkaraffe Chianti, meist aus der geflochtenen Korbflasche. Von der Qualität heutiger Spitzen-Chianti waren diese Weine sicher weit entfernt, doch haben viele damals eine Liebe fürs Leben entdeckt. Unser heutiger Chianti Classico stammt aus dem Hause Rocca di Montegrossi in Monti, bei Gaiole in Chianti, gelegen. Das Weingut befindet sich im Besitz von Marco Firidolfi Ricasoli, Mitglied einer Familie, die seit 1000 Jahren die Geschichte Italiens geprägt hat wie kaum eine andere. Neben dem politischen und kulturellem Wirken spielt seit jeher auch der Weinbau eine bedeutende Rolle, immerhin geht die Erfindung des Chianti auf eben dieses Adelshaus zurück. Der ganze Betrieb ist ökologisch ausgerichtet, nicht nur auf die Bio-Zertifizierung der Weine selbst, sondern auch auf die Stromerzeugung für den Gesamtbetrieb, die rein aus erneuerbaren Ernergiequellen bezogen wird. Der Name des Weingutes geht übrigens auf eine Burgfestung zurück, die im Mittelalter enorme militärische Bedeutung hatte und von Geremia, dem damaligen Familienoberhaupt der Firidolfis und somit Marcos Vorfahre, erbaut wurde. Zögern Sie nicht lange und gönnen Sie sich einen ehrlichen, handgemachten Chianti mit dem sortentypischen Aroma nach Sauerkirschen und Brombeeren, fruchtig-würzigem Abgang und einem äußerst elegantem Finale.
