Bitcoin vs. Digital Fool's Gold By Pudim While alternative cryptocurrencies may on the outside be shiny and attractive, they lack the fundamental aspects that give bitcoin value.
Bitcoin is often referred to as digital gold, and the author reiterates and attributes it to mainly one characteristic: it's scarcity. Bitcoin is even scarcer than gold, as its offer is innelastic, but in addition to its absolute scarcity it has many other characteristics that differenciate it from the vast amount of existing cryptocurrencies, such as being truly descentralized, being the network with most computational power, having an immaculate design, or no premine, and a gigantic network effect.
The author leaves us with some questions to consider and evaluate to understand where bitcoin stands versus all other cryptoassets: - Are there any known founders?
- Is there a marketing team trying to sell this coin?
- Is it possible to run your own node at low costvalue or can only the very rich can validate this blockchain?
- Are there coins that were pre-mined and distributed to founders or early investors?
- Are there people with privileges on the network who can validate transactions for the simple reason that they have more of the cryptocurrency than others (or, in other words, whoever has more can do more)?

North Vancouver To Be World's First City Heated By Bitcoin By Jesse Willms MintGreen, a Canadian cleantech bitcoin miner, is leading the waste reuse space in Vancouver with their heat sales to local businesses. As the price of bitcoin rises, miners flew from China, and Canada gives home to more miners, other players have also been using excess heat to power greenhouse operations, home heating, and even jacuzzis.
The company recently signed a 12 year contract to provide heat with their new Digital Boilers to North Vancouver district energy system to heat commercial and residential buildings. The move recovers more than 96% of the electricity used for mining, making it a win-win strategy, as they use the initial hydro energy for mining, and reuse it to generate heat. Additionally MintGreen’s Digital Boilers will prevent 20,000 tonnes of GHGs from entering the atmosphere per MW compared to natural gas.
"Mining with hydro already makes MintGreen green and reusing that same energy to sell heat makes it that much more eco-friendly." - Jesse Williams |

Bitcoin + Lightning Network: The Most Efficient Payment System In The World View on YouTube In this video, we explore how the lightning network makes Bitcoin scalable to a global audience. In order to keep Bitcoin decentralized, it's blockchain has transaction limits that make it unusable for the entire world population. The rumors intensify. Word in the street is that a Bitcoin ETF will finally get approved by the SEC. This is good for bitcoin visibility and validity to pre-coiners, but is it really good for the price? The more bitcoin we DCA, the less bitcoin can be kept on institutional custody. We should all be spreading the "Gospel" and teaching self sovereignty to the ones around us.
