Welcome to the 813th DPReview Newsletter 'Stay out of politics, DPR' was one comment we received this week, on a story about reports of police violence towards members of the press, during recent unrest in the United States. We'll admit that the line between what is and isn't 'politics' is a little blurry these days, but rest assured, our mission has not changed. We're a photography website, first and foremost. But with photojournalism and photojournalists such a key part of that landscape, we have been very aware of the increased attacks on the media - both literal and figurative - that have become a feature of public life in recent years, and not only here in the US. We believe that we've never needed trained, professional journalists more than we do now. And that these people should be able to do their jobs without fear of being targeted or attacked. Of course, it's not attacks on the media which have spurred people to get out into the streets of America this week. On a personal level, we at DPReview share the outrage of peaceful protesters in cities across the country. We can all do better, and we must. In the meantime, we may all still be working from home (day 79 and counting!), but the business of publishing news, reviews and articles on DPReview continues as usual. And as part of that, every now and then, and where relevant within our editorial remit, you may see coverage on our homepage which reflects current events.
