I hope you enjoyed the long weekend, if you were lucky enough to have one. Almost without exception, we spent at least some of our time running around with the latest waterproof cameras, so we're now deep into the 'comparing notes' phase of our roundup. In the meantime, though, this has happened:

Sony has unveiled a faster, higher-resolution OLED panel for use as an electronic viewfinder. The UXGA panel gives a 25% increase in each direction, compared with the 2.36M-dot finders in recent high-end models. The panel also promises a 240 fps mode to give a more lifelike preview.

Leica has discontinued its M7 film camera after 16 years of service. According to the Red Dot Forum, which is run by the Miami Leica store, the last of the M7 standard and ‘a la Carte’ bodies has been built and no more will be made.
