Digitalisation, autonomous sailing and Team Finland
Day two of Europort 2021 was packed with innovations in digitization, autonomous sailing and fleet financing. A Finnish business delegation did good business. While at the Mare Forum Ship Finance there was a lot of discussion about new ways of shipping financing, a dozen companies from the dredging industry pitched meaningful innovations, and a new application for autonomous sailing was presented at the Innovation Stage. Meanwhile, the number of visitors to the fair grew steadily.

Team Finland docks at Europort
Yesterday, the Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs, together with a delegation of 9 Finnish companies, visited Europort 2021. In addition to a tour of the exhibition floor, they made contact with various Dutch companies, including Damen Shipyards.
The Central Dredging Association (CEDA), in close collaboration with their corporate members, organised the 'CEDA Europort Innovation Event’. During two afternoons 24 companies presented their innovations in 15-minutes- pitch talks. We selected three of them.
SMASH! Grabs autonomous initiative with roadmap smart shipping
The Netherlands Forum for Smart Shipping (SMASH!) launched Roadmap Smart Shipping: a new web-based information tool pinpointing the promise, progress and problem areas for the autonomous ship.

MariMatch 2021, organized by the Enterprise Europe Network is an international 'matchmaking' event for companies and institutions in the maritime industry who are looking for new business and/or research partners. The event offers the opportunity to gain new international contacts for future technology partnerships. The focus is on innovative technology. After registration on the MariMatch website participants can schedule appointments with other parties or be invited by potential foreign partners. The intermediate network of Enterprise Europe Network plays an active role in connecting parties from different countries.
