Pairing wine with lockdown
junk food
Another plate of nuggets is it? Another beige forkful of zero-effort nutrition to get you through the day? Hey, we’re not here to judge, we’re here to help. Which is why we asked a bunch of real wine experts about the best bottles to pair with your functional-yet-depressing lockdown meals. Never again will you make the unforgivable faux pas of eating Mini Cheddars with a merlot.

7pm The machinations of power laid bare
You might not have heard of it, but ‘This House’ by James Graham, who wrote the play and TV drama ‘Quiz’, is a five-star classic that premiered to rave reviews back in 2012. Its plot covers the trials and tribulations of the Labour Party in the 1970s, so brace yourself for the smoky corridors of power and of course the inner workings of our political system. Fan of ‘House of Cards’ (or anything along those lines)? You’ll love this.
The best of the rest

Get familiar with a literary giant
Historically, three things have put you off reading classic authors: a lack of time, trepidation about where to start and, crucially, the fact we all secretly prefer back-to-back episodes of shoddy Netflix dramas over the greatest works of literature the world has ever produced. Well, we can’t do anything about that last one. It’s just human nature. But you do have time now. Lots of it. So we thought we’d help ease you in gently to the world of Very Good Books. This week: the masterful Zadie Smith.
