We’re thrilled to announce that the Deerfield Park Foundation's community event, "Dinks for Deerfield," was a resounding success! The two-day pickleball social and tournament brought together hundreds of players of all ages, who helped us kick off summer with fun and excitement while raising funds for important causes. Your participation and support have contributed to the newly installed pickleball court shade structures at the Shepard Courts, the scholarship fund to provide financial aid to those in need for Deerfield Park District Programs, and the Linda Gryziecki Scholarships for college students.
A special thanks to Stan Robbin, who played a pivotal role in organizing the event. Inspired by the need for shade structures at the Shepard Pickleball courts and driven by his passion for pickleball and the community, Stan dedicated the last three months to organizing the tournament. He worked closely with the Deerfield Park Foundation and the Deerfield Park District, coordinating volunteers and rallying players. We also extend our gratitude to the Deerfield Park District staff, especially the Sachs Recreation Center and their wonderful team for hosting the tournament indoors after a rainout, the Parks Department for their tireless work, and our generous sponsors. We couldn't have done it without you!
