This week's top real estate headlines

YouTuber and cosmetics mogul Jeffree Star is officially waving goodbye to his "Barbie dreamhouse" Calabasas mansion. With interiors painted an almost unsettling shade of Pepto Bismol pink, Star's 6,700-square-foot former home is currently listed at a little over $3.5 million. Meanwhile, over in Malibu, J.Lo and A-Rod are at it yet again and have flipped a beach house that they purchased only a year and a half ago back on the market. The celeb couple reportedly enlisted the help of “Fixer Upper” cohost Joanna Gaines to give the property a thorough makeover.  

In other news, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is looking to shed his Hollywood Hills compound, "Riverdale" star Marisol Nichols flipped her Valley Village contemporary back on the market for $1.9 million, actor Paul Dooley and his screenwriting wife Winnie Holzman took a $1.25 million loss on the sale of their Malibu beach house, Judah and Astrid Hertz are asking $65 million for their Martyn Lawrence-designed estate, actor Dennis Haysbert is on track to double his money on the sale of his Zuma Beach property, Fifth Harmony member Normani purchased a $2.9 million L.A. starter house, Miami-based real estate developer Bob Zangrillo is asking $48 million for his Los Angeles mansion, and actor Chris Parnell upgraded to a freshly renovated Silver Lake home.

Jeffree Star Lists Barbie Pink Calabasas Starter Mansion 

Beyond all the pink, the ex-Star mansion does offer the luxe amenities expected in a property at this price range. There are 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths in nearly 6,800 square feet of living space, an attached four-car garage, stainless kitchen appliances, and a relatively large .64-acre lot with a grassy lawn and BBQ center.

Current listings details aren’t particularly revealing about the property’s newly refreshed interiors but do describe the slightly more than 4,400-square-foot beach pad as “reworked for a masterful redesign in mind” with a layout that “maximizes the opportunity to entertain while taking in the the expansive Pacific Ocean.” READ MORE

Top-earning DJ and record producer Calvin Harris is looking to spin out of a large home in a discreet and quiet area of L.A.’s Hollywood Hills, hanging a nearly $5.5 million price tag on the snazzily done-up residence he bought about 2.5 years ago from fellow DJ and record producer Steve Angello for a mite more than $5 million. READ MORE
