This week's top real estate headlines

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez certainly aren't short of places to live, but property records indicate that the superstar power couple recently shelled out $1.4 million for a modest Encino home. However, JLo and A-Rod are just the latest celebrities to buy in the increasingly popular SFV enclave — other celebs in the community include Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani and Joe Jonas. Meanwhile, over in Beverly Hills' exclusive Trousdale Estates, musician Jordan McGraw was given a $10 million engagement gift by his father Dr. Phil in the form of a 6,500-square-foot mansion. With voluminous, light-filled spaces, clerestory windows and a massive fireplace, it's decidedly a step up from McGraw's eccentric, yet bewildering starter house.

In other news, "Scorpion" star Eddie Kaye is seeking a little less than $2.75 million for his Venice bungalow, HUD secretary Ben Carson is hightailing it out of his Virginia home, Antonio Banderas put his historic Manhattan apartment back on the market with a $7.4 million price tag, the London townhouse that helped inspire "101 Dalmatians" is asking $11 million, "Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson is turning over a new leaf in Los Feliz, Sarah Jakes Roberts is settling into a new manse in Calabasas, and heiress Hillary Thomas wants $15 million for her Pacific Palisades starter house.

Built in 1948 and since extensively renovated, the red tile-roofed structure is of indeterminate architectural heritage but includes modern amenities aplenty.
