This week's top real estate headlines

Although Travis Scott rapped about the Hidden Hills community in his song "Butterfly Effect," he recently dropped $23.5 million for a futuristic, contemporary mansion in Brentwood. His new, 16,700-square-foot home packs in seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms into three full floors of ultra-posh living space. Meanwhile, over in Bel Air, Elon Musk has sold one of his palatial houses to Chinese tech billionaire "William" Ding Lei for $29 million. That's one down, six more properties to go in order for the SpaceX CEO to achieve total housing freedom.

In other news, Howie Mandel wants a tad under $10.5 million for his Hidden Hills home, "Southland" actor Shawn Hatosy paid nearly $2.4 million for a Larchmont Village villa, "Riverdale" star Camila Mendes bought a $1.9 million Silver Lake home, Parcast founder Max Cutler purchased an $8.4 million Brentwood estate, Fox News anchor Bret Baier put his D.C. manse on the market, Cheyenne Jackson and his hubby are officially in the house flipping business, "Days of Our Lives" star Blake Berris is asking almost $2.5 million for his Silver Lake home, Under Armour founder Kevin Plank sold his Georgetown estate for a steep discount, "Search Party" actor John Early is moving into Silver Lake, and billboard tycoon heiress Hillary Thomas bought a stunning $24 million contemporary in the Pacific Palisades.
