This week's top real estate headlines

Rumor has it that two shockingly expensive new homes on Robin Drive in the Bird Streets neighborhood — one of them last listed at $52 million, the other at $42.5 million — are being sold together, in a single eye-popping deal, to the same mysterious billionaire buyer. The two-mansion deal would utterly obliterate the previous Hollywood Hills record set with Malaysian fugitive Jho Low's $39 million buy of a renovated home in 2012. Meanwhile in Los Feliz, Darren Criss is making real estate headlines once again. The "Assassination of Gianni Versace" actor upgraded his residential circumstances late last year to a family-sized home and is getting rid of his old digs to the tune of a little less than $1.7 million. Purchased for $1.2 million more than seven years ago, the actor is sure to make a "killing."

In other news, San Diego's "Papa Doug" Manchester lists his country club-esque estate for $37 million, "Microsoft" millionaire Chris Peters and his longtime wife put their Diane Keaton-designed home up for grabs for a little more than $17 million, funnyman Will Forte is crashing into Monterey, Swedish songstress Tove Lo snatched up Danny McBride's former home, OxyContin heir Mortimer Sackler orchestrated a gargantuan $38 million, off-market deal in N.Y.C to get out of Dodge, Mamie Gummer listed her funky Beachwood Canyon cabin, Wendy Williams is trying to move on with her life and sell her home, and songwriter Benny Blanco fell head over heels for Tinder cofounder Sean Rad's Hollywood Hills mansion.

Side-by-Side Bird Streets Mansions Sell for Record $70+ Million

The identity of the buyer remains a mystery, but one thing is for certain — the affluent purchaser is foreign and hails from Asia. One source swears the new owner is billionaire Taiwanese electronics tycoon Terry Gou, founder and chairman of Foxconn, a company primarily engaged in the manufacture of consumer electronics like the iPhone and iPad. Or could the owner of these snazzy new homes be someone in his immediate family?
