Tornado leads to disaster relief fund in Spartanburg

The Spartanburg County Foundation has established the Spartanburg County Disaster Relief Fund, focused on supporting the nonprofit organizations working first-hand with community members dealing with the aftermath of disasters that may affect the residents of Spartanburg County.

 Tourism brought a record $23.8 billion to South Carolina in 2018, generating $1.8 billion in state and local taxes and supporting one in 10 jobs in the state.

CofC, USC Upstate to offer dual degree program

The University of South Carolina-Upstate and the College of Charleston will partner to offer a dual-degree program that will enable students at CofC to earn two degrees in five years: one degree in biology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from USC Upstate’s Mary Black School of Nursing.

Specialty crop grant applications available through state

Applications are open for S.C. farmers interested in participating in the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program is designed to strengthen the market for specialty crops, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Agriculture.
