Coolness Is Overrated

Last week I spoke to a group of college students. Before I started my talk, I confessed that they were an intimidating group to speak to. After, one of the students approached me and asked why I was intimidated. I wasn’t quite sure why. I think that, on some level, I wanted them to think I was cool! I realize that for someone on the wrong side of 40, who drives a minivan and buys his clothes at Costco, that ship has sailed. Plus, young people don’t want you to be cool; they want you to care about them.

That’s one of the principles in our resource for this week: Discipling Emerging Adults. You’ll learn from leaders on how to connect with members of the younger generation and lead them to the next level in their spiritual journeys. Also, check out Discipling in a Digital Age. This resource has tips on how to move a distracted generation toward Christ.
