Don't want Windows 11? Too bad, you're getting it anyway

 

In a strange Windows upgrade debacle, some organizations are finding that their devices are being updated to Windows 11 even if they have the update blocked and would rather stay on Windows 10. The problem is caused by a bug with Microsoft Intune, which is supposed to help administrators manage updates across multiple devices. Microsoft says it is working on a fix, but in the meantime the company recommends that businesses pause updates in Intune if they don't want to be forcibly upgraded to Windows 11.

Discord using facial scans to verify users' age

 

Social platforms are under increasing scrutiny for how they manage underage users, and are scrambling to find a way to prevent children from accessing sensitive parts of their services. Now, Discord is testing out an age verification system that works by scanning a user's face or asking them to submit an ID. Commentators are already questioning whether the platform should put that much trust in automated systems to decide on someone's age just by looking at their face.
