BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Infant mortality: Seeking to lower Louisiana's high infant mortality rates, lawmakers are weighing bills that would expand services for pregnant women and newborns, Andrea Gallo reports.

EPA rule: A new EPA rule aimed at curbing pollution from chemical plants in Louisiana's river parishes has been praised by parish residents, but criticized by Attorney General Liz Murrill and the Louisiana Chemical Association, Mike Smith reports.
