Pretty city: A guide to London’s most beautiful bits

Sure, Paris has its Grands Boulevards, Rio is cradled by azure waters and majestic mountains, and pretty much all of Venice is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But as far as we’re concerned, the best looking city in the world is London (not that we’re biased or anything…)

From fountains to alleyways, churches to tube stations, there’s endless beauty to discover in the Big Smoke, if you know where to look. Sometimes it can be found in the unlikeliest of places – we’ve waxed poetic about gasholders, high rises, bus stops and even toilets before.

It’s not all buildings, either. This is a splendid city in which to soak up bucolic vibes, or just stop and smell the roses (or cherry blossom). Hit the blue button to plan an aesthetically pleasing adventure in the great outdoors. You can even reward yourself afterwards with a meal in one of London’s most beautiful restaurants, or a pint in the prettiest of pubs.
