Good morning Marketer, are you registered for Discover MarTech?

Discover MarTech — our free, three-day virtual event — kicks-off today! Whether you’re a martech maestro, modeler, or maker, there’s a little something for all (marketers). In light of the global crisis, the topic of digital transformation has been top-of-mind as businesses and marketing teams work to make the mandatory shift to WFH.

At this week’s event, explore a range of sessions that discuss digital transformation – and see what’s working for other organizations. Here are a few to check out:

Today, at 1:35 PM ET: Workfront’s VP of Product Marketing will host a session on “Adapting to Changing Market Forces: How to Iteratively Plan and Prioritize Work,” going well beyond the tools needed to adopt work-from-home policies. The session will focus on the programs that enable flexibility without diminishing outcomes — creating environments where teams are aligned, focused and engaged.

Today, at 3:20 PM ET: Executives from Acoustic will be presenting “Implications of the New World on Your Martech Stack and Processes,” a practical guide for marketing operations practices during the pandemic. The session will look at data management implications, multichannel integrations, and the importance of agile environments. It’ll be worth the listen for MOPs teams trying to do as much as they can while running on limited resources and smaller staffs.

Wednesday, 3:20 PM ET: Widen’s Director of Customer Success will present “From 0 to 60: Digital Transformation in the Age of Coronavirus” session — unpacking the most uncomfortable questions we have to ask about marketing technology in terms of digital transformation: What becomes a marketer’s purpose if growth is unattainable? And, which processes and technology should be kept and which should be left by the wayside?

Happy watching!

Seven actions to demonstrate empathy for customers

At a time when nearly everything is on hold, customer experience takes on a new level of importance. Below, a visual guide from consulting firm McKinsey & Company breaks down seven key actions to help businesses connect with customers – and show they care – during the crisis.

“Over the past few months, companies have had to quickly adjust to COVID-19,” the company wrote in a blog post. “The first step for many organizations was to stabilize operations and safeguard their own employees. From this position, companies can then find genuine, creative ways to show empathy and emotionally connect with their customers. Many have already begun to take seven actions related to individual safety, security and stability, convenience and ease of use, and emotional bonds and trust (exhibit).” Source: McKinsey
