THE RIGHT TOOL MIGHT JUST INSPIRE YOUR NEXT PROJECT

Beauty and function are sometimes interchangeable terminology for the tool maker and the same often applies to all elements of life!

In this edition we take a look at some legendary workbench builds to inspire workshop improvements and take a look at some of the essential hardware to help make your time at the bench a true pleasure.

We also introduce the first hold-fast boot, made by the young, talented and entrepreneurial Thomas Lane.  We have been using the first two boots in our workshop and we love them.

This week we also revisited the pallet of gidgee collected in April of 2023.  40kg blocks of chainsaw milled timber were unwrapped and carefully reviewed before being cut into the oversized blanks that will become HNT planes.  One particular tree from this trip out beyond Bourke yielded blanks for a full set of nine pairs of Hollows and Rounds. Fingers crossed, we might even make it to a full set of HNT Planes!!

The picture below will give an idea of just how beautiful ringed gidgee can be!!  The next set might already be answered for but if you're interested in your own set of beautiful molding planes, reach out and we'll be happy to talk through the options!

Legendary Workbench Builds

HNT Gordon bench hardware finds its way into workshops all over the world and for good reason.  These vices are the first and only non-racking vice in the world solving what is ultimately one of the most frustrating flaws in bench hardware experienced by woodworkers. Whether professional or hobbyist, there's no doubt that any workshop will be improved with this quality gear.

As more and more people discover the HNT Pattern Makers, Front and Tail Vices we are constantly impressed and inspired by the workmanship displayed in the benches that are partnered with our tools.
