Discovery, Snapchat Team Up on Content, Advertising for Next 2 Olympics

Since the pandemic scuppered the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, there’s now just six months between the summer and winter games.

To get its content out to Snapchat's audience, Discovery has struck a content-sharing and advertising partnership with the platform, David Cohen reports.

The best Olympics content and coverage from Discovery+ and the media giant’s Eurosport network will be shown on the new Eurosport Olympics daily Show on Snapchat’s Discover platform.

Read more from David's piece, including that the Olympics content on Snapchat is set to include:

  • Two daily episodes available to Snapchatters in Europe during the Games, featuring highlights.
  • Snapchatters in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K. will also get two local language episodes each day featuring top moments and highlights of their respective national teams and athletes.
  • The run-up to each event will include Road to Tokyo and Road to Beijing content, following teams and athletes from around the world.

In other Discovery news, Jason Lynch writes that the media company is the latest to announce it's holding a virtual Upfronts event in May, following the week’s news that Disney and ViacomCBS would also be returning.

On that note, our team works hard to bring you the latest information through good times and bad. Consider supporting our journalism with an Adweek+ Subscription.

Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!
