'Disturbing surge': Why younger adults are increasingly contracting COVID-19

The U.S. is seeing a spike in COVID-19 infections, particularly in the Southeast and the West, Dr. Anthony Fauci said during a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing Tuesday.

Increasing cases in younger people — in their 20s, 30s and 40s — are playing a large part in this surge, health officials say, in part driven by increased testing, but even more so by large gatherings.
