Boardroom Gap: Diverse candidate pools lead to diverse companies

Central Massachusetts institutions with greater gender diversity say they've seen the value of equality and have wanted to match their leadership to the rest of their organization.

Despite her deep roots at the garden, Joann Vieira, the founding director of horticulture for Tower Hill Botanic Garden, will leave the organization later this month.

Amjad Bahnassi came to Worcester in the early 1980s for a residency program at UMass Medical Center as a psychiatrist and never left. After completing his residency, he started Behavioral Healthcare Services, a practice he still leads after more than 25 years.

After two strategic acquisitions, New Jersey pharmacy provider PharmScript announced Tuesday it is expanding further into the Northeast and opening a 15,000-square-foot pharmacy in Marlborough in April.

Marlborough drugmaker Sunovion has received federal approval for use of a bipolar depression treatment drug in pediatric patients.

Marlborough health imaging company Hologic is being sued by Japanese photography and imaging company Fujifilm for patent infringement and violating U.S. antitrust laws.

The image of a marijuana leaf has been banned for marketing purposes from appearing on the packaging or advertising for pot products, but the Cannabis Control Commission voted Tuesday to require the image of a marijuana leaf be displayed on every legal marijuana product sold in Massachusetts.
