| | JHU goes to Washington While this isn't Johns Hopkins' first footprint in DC, it's still a notable one. The university's School of Nursing has announced the launch of the Institute for Policy Solutions in DC. The mission of the institute, according to reports, is to shift the focus of the U.S. healthcare system from reactive treatment to preventive, whole-person care. Led by Vincent Guilamo-Ramos, the institute aims to promote nurse-led, evidence-based solutions that prioritize health equity and holistic care. Nurses, as we've all learned through the pandemic, play a significant role in healthcare and are thus positioned to design and deliver interventions for underserved communities through the new initiative. Some of the institute's other objectives include advancing value-based care, eliminating racist policies and addressing the social determinants of health. It will serve as a bridge for research and solutions to community health issues and is located in a building with a modern facade in the capital. What do you think of the new institute and what it could do, especially from a health or life sciences tech perspective?
