Make the most out of the holiday season with Kentucky Science Center's annual Make Your Season extravaganza! In light of rising COVID-19 numbers, Kentucky Science Center is adding brand-new virtual experiences. While this year’s celebration will feel a little different, we still want people to have something to look forward to on the calendar.
In-Person Make Your Season events will include several MakerPlace activities (free drop-ins, $5 Make-and-Takes, and 90 minute workshops) and Winter Break Pay By Day Camps.

Our unique online experiences will get the whole family involved in the fun of doing science. Virtual Make Your Season activities include Virtual Family STEAM Club, Sensory Friendly Virtual Fun with Frosty, and MakerPlace to Go Kits that are available for purchase in our Gift Shop and can be done at home.

| | | | | | | | NEW: Community Access Membership | |  | | Kentucky Science Center is now offering a FREE Family Membership for all families receiving SNAP/WIC benefits.
Families will just need to show their SNAP/WIC card and a photo ID in person at the Science Center to activate their membership. Completed membership form and proof of SNAP benefits can also be emailed. Membership cards will be mailed within 3-6 weeks of membership activation.

Challenge your children to investigate, explore, build, predict and test, and shop for shapes, textures, and colors - all through experimental and imaginative play. You'll find versions of some of your favorite Science in Play exhibits in our Mall St. Matthews location, across from the restrooms near Aeropostale.
Our mall location is now open! Admission is FREE for members and $5 for non-member children. | | | |  | | | | | Playworks at WaterFront Park | |  | | We are soliciting community input for PlayWorks at Waterfront Park, the first major component of the Waterfront Park 22.5-acre Phase IV expansion that will be located very near Kentucky Science Center at approximately tenth street and the river.
PlayWorks is a 1.5 acre outdoor experiential learning area created in collaboration with Waterfront Park and celebrates our waterfront’s history by using authentic objects as a catalyst for families and kids to “Make Play Out of Work.” Visitors will have the opportunity to play and explore around real river and industrial artifacts, including turning a towboat propeller, moving a conveyor belt, and role playing as an excavator operator.
| | | | Because the pandemic prevents us from meeting in person, we have developed this website to provide you an informational video, details on the schematic designs for PlayWorks, information on the overall Master Plan for Phase IV of Waterfront Park, and our online questionnaire. The questionnaire will remain open until January 29, 2021.
For those that may not have computer access: The Louisville Free Public Library offers free in-person computer access by appointment and free public Wi-Fi outside of the buildings. In addition, printed informational materials will be available at the Main, Portland, Western, and Shawnee library branches.
