Dear Friend,
In a minute, I’m going to ask you to make a year-end donation to Free Press that will be triple matched. But first, I want to highlight some of the incredible wins we’ve achieved together in 2021: - We got — and kept — Donald Trump kicked off of social media.
- We secured $65 billion in the infrastructure bill for affordable and accessible broadband.
- We celebrated one year of our Media 2070 project for media reparations — joining with 25 lawmakers to urge the FCC to investigate the history of racism in its policies.
- We raised significant awareness of the non-English disinformation crisis via Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, front-page coverage in The Los Angeles Times, an appearance on MSNBC, and more.
We couldn’t have done any of this without your support.
Now, with just a few hours left in 2021, I'm hoping you can take action one more time and donate by midnight. Your tax-deductible gift will be tripled — and we absolutely have to reach our $50,000 fundraising goal to accomplish everything we have planned in 2022. The next few hours will determine whether we can proceed with our full 2022 plans — or if we’ll need to scale back our planning (and limit our impact).
2022 is the year to right the wrongs of the Trump presidency and pursue policies that can truly transform the lives of Black, Brown and low-income communities. Let’s be sure Free Press has the resources it needs to hit the ground running and pursue justice and equity for all. In solidarity,
