Providers should note a significant change in the proposed PDPM from RUG-IV regarding group and concurrent treatment. CMS is proposing limiting group and concurrent treatment provided to a resident to 25% of the minutes provided per discipline and will allow the entire provision of group and concurrent minutes to be recorded within the MDS. This differs from the current RUG-IV system, where the reimbursable therapy minutes are calculated by the group (one-fourth) and concurrent (one-half) reduction. In this month’s issue, PPS-Alert provides a supplement that details all new case-mix components your SNF needs to know, complete with tables from CMS. |
