Canal question: Jefferson Parish got some $65 million in pandemic relief funding that's allowed officials to fund projects. But there's no money aimed at a long-standing infrastructure issue: the parish's hundreds of miles of uncovered canals. Enclosing them — or adding guard rails and other safety features — could help motorists from crashing into them, and could potentially improve drainage and the streetscape. Drew Broach looks at why there hasn't been movement. Queen of Bourbon Street: Mamie Marie Francois, sometimes known as the "Queen of Bourbon Street," is a French Quarter fixture on her tricked-out tricycle.
