Images of two boys leaping into a long jump pit at a school sport carnival at Woden obviously impressed the photo editor of this edition in 1974. While there was no big story to tell, 10-year-old Dean Falconer of Aranda and 11-year-old Brett Ogle of Goulburn got their moment of fame thanks to the action shots. Except of course young Brett would go on to enjoy many, many more than his 15 minutes of fame, becoming one of Australia's top golfers.
