Does Your Business Qualify for SHOP Coverage?

The Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) is for small businesses that want to provide health and/or dental insurance to their employees affordably, flexibly, and conveniently. To offer SHOP coverage to your employees, your business must meet four requirements:

  1. Have 1-50 full-time equivalent employees (FTEs) other than owners, spouses, and family members of owners and partners
  2. Offer coverage to all FTEs
  3. Generally mustenroll at least 70% of the employees you offer insurance to
  4. Have an office or employee work site within the state whose SHOP you want to use
