  Adopt Tessa, This Sweet Smooshy Girl!!!!!!!!!!! To be blunt, Tessa is a diamond in the rough who needs some polishing. Tessa is the type of girl who experiences high levels of anxiety — just like some of us humans. To self-soothe, Tessa tends to put things in her mouth, which can be cute when she’s soothing with a toy, but is rather challenging when she’s grabbing and tugging on her leash while overwhelmed on a walk. While still not anywhere near perfect, Tessa has made good improvement with a chain leash and lots of positive reinforcement for good behavior. This means that her new family will need to put work into expending her heaps of energy in other creative ways. However, even with her challenges, Tessa has a loving side that our staff members can’t help but rave about. Tessa is happy to place her head on your lap, melting into your hands—especially when they’re gently petting her on and around her cheeks or on her belly.
