This is the recipe that Merri Ann has used for mashed potatoes for holiday dinners. It takes the fuss out of holiday potatoes--stick them in crock pot and forget them until dinner.
She uses russet potatoes and mashes them right in the crock pot. If we had mashed them with the paddle in the stand-type mixer they would have been fluffier but that would have been an extra step and an extra dirty bowl.
