Taking two years out of Formula 1 is a pretty big ask for any driver making a comeback, but Fernando Alonso isn’t just any driver.

The two-time world champion has proved time and again that he’s flexible as well as fast, adapting from F1 to Indycars to sportscar prototypes – even a Dakar Rally contender!

Sure, it’s not ideal for him that he’s been outside of the white-hot competition of F1 for a while, but it’s not like Fernando has been sat around with his feet up… Reduced pre-season testing will hamper him, but with 23 races on the schedule he’ll soon get back into the swing of things.
