Last week when Steve Weatherford was here, he got up at 3:30 am to workout with another friend.

WHO gets up at 3:30 am to go workout??

Steve does. Specifically to work out with another guy named Steve.

Later that day, after Steve W and I recorded an episode for the podcast, he said he was going to meet up with his workout buddy Steve and I should come and meet him.

Yeah yeah, I was busy.

But I ended up going anyway.

And we all hit it off like bros.

Side note -- this is how I've met most of my current network...by meeting a really cool friend who introduces me to another really cool friend.

This pic sums it up.

I had a sense that this new Steve was a lot cooler than just a gym dude.

So I invited him to come on the podcast.

And it turns out I was right.

Steve Cook is a fitness icon on social media. He's a spokesmodel for Bodybuilding.com and has a HUGE following.

So it's easy to peg him as a tool.

But he's not.

We actually ended up talking for a while all about what masculinity really means.

I'm working on my new book, The Mask of Masculinity (due out next year), and so I'm fascinated by getting different men's perspectives on this.

Steve blew me away with his definition of it.

We talked about what really matters to us, what growing up playing sports and being fit athletes taught us about being men, and how that plays into our current relationships.

(Also, ladies, Steve is looking for a girlfriend, FYI.)

By the end of the conversation, I had a whole new perspective on what being a man actually means.

I also had a whole new perspective on bodybuilders.

And I had a new bro. Win win.

But really, I'm curious to hear from you (partly for selfish book research reasons), what does masculinity mean to you?

If you listen to Steve's episode, I'd love to hear your thoughts on his definition as well.

I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes today, inspired by this conversation.

"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde

Be yourself today,

Lewis

P.S. The Summit of Greatness price is going up at the end of this week!! Do you have your ticket? It's going to be epic.
