~Michael J. Fox When we lost our beautiful Golden Retriever, Cookie, after eleven years, we were devastated. We'd had her since she was eight weeks old. My husband Alan felt that the best way to heal the pain was to get another dog as soon as possible. I wasn't so sure. "I think that this time we should adopt a rescue dog," Alan said.
