On Saturday, we baked buns in a cup. We made two mistakes! They were terrific but the first buns were too big. They're going to rise more than you think--about 3X. They're going to be good--and ugly.
We forgot to spray the paper liners with a baking spray and it was hard to peel the paper from the pastry.
And they were taking forever to rise. So I took them out to the car where they quickly exploded in size. Good idea but I should have checked them sooner. Do let your buns get soft and puffy though. The tendency is to bake them too soon.

Do you really want to put that leftover cookie dough in the refrigerator? The dough is going to get hard and cold. Cold dough won't spread like fresh dough. Yes you can set it on the counter and let it warm but if you leave it too long, the butter turns to a liquid, the consistency of the cookies will change.
