WASHINGTON POST ARTICLE - ‘Atlanta’s’ Robert Powell III on the journey from politics to comedy

Robert Powell III is a stand-up comedian and political satirist. Born in Monroe, Louisiana Robert attended University of Louisiana at Monroe before getting his Masters’ degree in Political Science from Texas Christian University. During his 5 years at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Robert worked for an Assistant to Dr Jeff Hood, Dr Gloria George, Dr Lisa Miller & ultimately President James Cofer.

Robert was named Louisiana’s Comedian of The Year three years in a row.

Most recently, Robert was featured on the eagerly anticipated All Def Comedy Jam as well as brought back for the full series of All Def Comedy on HBO. After 5 short years of doing stand up full time, Robert can already be seen performing his stand up routines on Netflix, HBO, HBOgo, Seeso, Fusion, Kevin Hart's LOL' Network & Aspire TV. Robert’s acting debut came when Robert was hand picked by Donald Glover to co-star in an episode of Atlanta on FX. Donald Glover directed the episode & wrote the script with Robert in mind after catching Robert’s stand up routine. The episode & his character Bibby became an instant classic & was nominated for an Emmy for best comedic writing.

Alabama native Derrick Stroup is not your average slow talking Southerner. With the cadence of an angry auctioneer, he engages his audiences with his detailed stories, over the top energy and southern charm.

Since leaving home for Denver in 2015 to chase his dreams of stand-up comedy, Derrick has become a regular opener for the likes of John Crist and Josh Blue.  He also won one of the biggest comedy contest in the country in 2019 at the World-Famous Comedy Works in Denver. SOPHIE ON THE TONIGHT SHOW!!

Sophie Buddle is a stand-up, a TV writer, and a podcaster. She has appeared on “The Tonight Show”, “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, and on CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes as a correspondent and staff writer. She's also been featured on Comedy Central’s “Stand-Up Featuring”, CTV’s "Roast Battle", JFL All Access, Kevin Hart's LOL Network, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Halifax Comedy Festival. She was a featured performer at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and in 2022 had the esteemed privilege of delivering the Canadian Keynote Address on Comedy. Sophie released her first album in 2019, "Lil Bit Of Buddle," which won the 2020 Juno Award for Best Comedy Album of the Year, making her the first female comic to win that award. She released the album herself so you can find it on iTunes in the genre "easy listening", which was a mistake, but it is easy to listen to, so it's OK. Her podcast "Obsessed with Sophie Buddle", which tackles people’s obsessions (from Beyoncé to American politics to checking if the door is locked to revenge) is currently available on Apple Podcasts. She is a three-time runner up (but fourth time’s the charm!) for Canada's biggest stand-up contest, SiriusXM Top Comic, and can currently be seen headlining across the country.

Originally from Vancouver, Phil Hanley is a stand-up, actor, and writer who’s a regular at NYC’s renowned Comedy Cellar. He has performed stand-up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show, The Pete Holmes Show, and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show on Comedy Central. His half-hour special can be seen on Comedy Central and iTunes.

Phil can be seen starring in the film “Sundowners” alongside Tim Heidecker and in Amy Schumer’s “I Feel Pretty”. His album, “Please Don’t Chit Chat While I’m Pursuing My Dream,” was released in 2018.

River Butcher is a Los Angeles-based standup comic, actor, and writer. His first half-hour special "A Different Kind of Dude'' debuted on Comedy Central's YouTube channel and was called "a masterclass in
culture war commentary" by Esquire.com. The special also garnered the title of "Some of the Best Jokes of 2022 So Far." River recently wrote and produced on the FX pilot "Belated," previously wrote for "A
League of Their Own," and created/starred in/wrote the critically acclaimed and GLAAD award nominated "Take My Wife." You may have also seen them as nonbinary standup comic LB Brady on "Good Trouble" and Adam Conover's sibling on "Adam Ruins Everything" or queer dinner guest Denim in the hit "Friendsgiving." They've done stand-up all over the country, the globe, and the screen, including Ellen, Conan, Comedy Central, and HBO

Jay Jurden is a New York based comedian, writer and actor. Originally from Mississippi, Jay regularly performs comedy all over the country and is currently a Staff Writer for Apple TV+'s The Problem With Jon Stewart.

Jay has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon twice and has also been seen on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central Featuring, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and HBO’s High Maintenance.

Jay was named one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch in 2022. His album, Jay Jurden Y'all, debuted #1 on iTunes. Jay has written for numerous publications including: Vulture, Teen Vogue, McSweeney's, and The New Yorker. He was listed on Vulture's Comedians You Should and Will Know in 2020 and was selected to be featured in Just for Laughs Festival's New Faces in 2019.

Magic Class - This 1 hour magic class will include mind reading magic, card magic, coin magic, and lots more. You will receive all props necessary to accomplish the magic during the class. The magic taught is easy enough for kids but cool enough for adults to take to work to fool their friends. Wes has been teaching magic since 2003 and has had thousands of students in that time.

Wes Iseli is an award-winning magician who performs on average 400 shows per year.

He Fooled Penn & Teller with a trick he created on their show Fool Us on The CW. He has his own TV show called Wes Iseli's Magiclife airing now across the US.

His show is Vegas quality yet family friendly.

Sam Morrison is just another hack NYC based gay diabetic widow comedian. His acclaimed solo show SUGAR DADDY premiered Off Broadway earlier this year following a successful run at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival and is about to begin an encore engagement at the SoHo Playhouse. Within the show, which was recently declared “The best new show in NYC” by The Daily Beast and received great praise from The New York Times, Sam grapples with the death of his partner and grief hilariously and sentimentally through tales of love, diabetes and seagull attacks.

He was also named Best of New Talent at the New York Comedy Festival. Most recently, Sam made his late night debut on LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS.

Carlos Santos is an actor/ writer/ host who was recently a lead in the Netflix dramedy series, GENTEFIED, for which he has been nominated for “Best Actor in Television” at the 2020 Imagen Awards, and in the supporting role of ‘Maurillio’, opposite Lil Rey Howery and Yvonne Orji in the upcoming FOX feature, VACATION FRIENDS. Francisco Ramos

Francisco can be seen in the recurring character in the outstanding show on Netflix - GENTEFIED. He was a top-ten finalist on Last Comic Standing and continues touring as a comedian across North America. Having made a noteworthy impact HBO presented an opportunity to shoot a standup special for "Entre Nos". He continues to flourish as an actor and voice-over artist having created memorable characters in SHAMELESS, ANGIE TRIBECA & on Netflix's LADY DYNAMITE.
