An Owings Mills tech company did 3D scans for Apple TV+'s new show — just the latest example of a screen production with local economic impact.
3D scanning for prestige TV | Working on "Lady in the Lake" was a "full circle" moment for Direct Dimensions founder Michael Raphael: One of his first high-profile gigs involved 3D-scanning Natalie Portman for her Oscar-winning role in 2010's "Black Swan" — and now she's one of the lead actors in the new Apple TV+ series. Raphael's company, based in Owings Mills, is one of several local businesses to work on the adaptation of local author Laura Lippman's novel, which the Maryland Dept. of Commerce said generated over $100 million for the state's economy. | Sponsored news: Point of interest | Members of the UM BioPark roundtable meet monthly to discuss issues that impact their companies and Maryland’s biotech and life sciences industries. |
