Good morning, my busy bees! 🐝 I hope you had a restful Labor Day. Here’s your forecast: 🌤 51 – 99° in Logan ☀️ 71 – 103° in Salt Lake City ⚠️ 🌤 75 – 109° in St. George ⚠️ ⚠️ Heat Advisory Did you ever have a book that really stood out to you as a kid? I just read this article in The Christian Science Monitor about the history of “Good Night Moon” which I know my mother read as a child and she also read to me and my siblings when we were little. As much as I love novels, biographies and books exploring big social issues, I also love returning to the books I read as a child or that were read to me as a bedtime story. Some of my favorites were “Good Dog Carl” (which my mom lovingly dubbed “Bad Dog Carl” because he got into so much trouble), “Each Peach Pear Plum” and “Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters.” I have a list of all my favorites here. Tell me: What were some of your favorite books as a child? If you’re a parent, what books do you read to your kids that you love? Also on our minds: Kyle Whittingham’s terrible trip home, the fight to take down Big Porn and the ghost stories of southern Utah. |
