Legacy Village, the lifestyle-shopping center, announced via its Instagram page that the restaurant is leaving after 20 years. It was an original tenant at Legacy Village, which just passed its 20th anniversary. READ MORE Terrestrial Brewing Co. files for bankruptcy protection Terrestrial Brewing Co. has filed for bankruptcy protection, the brewery confirmed Wednesday. The brewery, which opened in 2017 in the city’s Battery Park neighborhood and a short walk from Edgewater Park, listed assets of less than $50,000 and liabilities of $1 million to $10 million, according to the Cleveland Business Journal. Also, the story said, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Cleveland’s economic development department hold claims for $150,000 and $6,500, respectively. Saucisson to close in Cleveland’s Slavic Village after 10 years Saucisson in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood announced last week that the beloved butcher shop and market will be closing its doors after 10 years in business. The small business opened its brick-and-mortar at 5324 Fleet Avenue after gaining traction at farmers’ markets and pop-up events a decade ago. Dec. 9 will be the last day for both the retail and wholesale business after celebrating its Dec. 7 anniversary. OPENINGS Chef Douglas Katz to open Kiln in Van Aken District Chef Douglas Katz and business partner Todd Thompson are bringing Kiln, a new white tablecloth bistro concept, to The Van Aken District. They plan to open in late summer 2024. The restaurant will take over the 6,300-square-foot, two-story space previously occupied by Shake It, Garden City/Kindred Spirit and Sawyer’s. All were operated by FWD Hospitality. Katz told cleveland.com’s Paris Wolfe that Kiln will NOT be a reincarnation of his well-loved Fire restaurant. Fire dominated Shaker Square for 20 years, closing in 2020. And Kiln will also differ completely from his other restaurants Amba, an Indian-inspired restaurant in Ohio City, and Zhug, a Meditteranean-inspired restaurant in Cleveland Heights. READ MORE La Cave du Vin to open Friday in new location And Friday, Dec. 8, La Cave du Vin – which previously was in Cleveland Heights’ Coventry neighborhood - is set to open in the former Spotted Owl location at 710 Jefferson Ave. in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. This year, Will Hollingsworth of Buildings and Food hospitality group announced a chain reaction of food and drink places: The cocktail bar Spotted Owl would shut down, La Cave du Vin would go in its space, and eventually Spotted Owl would go in the former Lolita location on Literary Road. Makes Latin-inspired craft beers out of its brewpub in Willoughby that’s a must a must-visit for any local craft beer lover. The brewery also has a location in Westlake’s Crocker Park, but the Willoughby hub is bigger and better. Not only do customers get the chance to sample Pulpo’s distinctive lineup, but the bar serves food from both Hola Tacos and Barroco Arepa Bar, with flavor profiles that pair perfectly with the brew lineup.
